Presentation Guidelines > Talk

Regular talk should last 14 minutes, questions included. So keep in mind that the more you will talk the less time will last for questions. We thus suggest 12 minutes talk to allow 2 minutes of questions and 1 minute for transition between talk.

Presentation format should be either pdf or power-point. We recommend using 16:9 format as the projector will be in 16:9.

Please bring a copy of your presentations with you on a USB stick. The USB stick must only contain your presentation, and it should mention the name of the session and your family name in the title.

You will be able to upload your presentation on the conference computer during breaks each day. Please bring your presentation at the latest half a day before your session takes place.

For speakers that will talk on Monday, presentations should be uploaded during registration on Sunday.

Here are some further recommendations:

a) Stick to widely used fonts such Arial, Calibri, Verdana. Very important: do not use non-standard fonts, as it is very likely that they will not be available from our computers.

b) Please do not use more than three different fonts in your presentation; do not use small font sizes (no fonts < 16 points should be used)

c) Be consistent with the design, colors, and layout of your slides.

d) Keep charts, graphs etc... simple and precise, and use simple colors whose contrast with the background of the slide will ensure maximal readability.

e) If your presentation includes video clips, please review it on a different machine from which it was originally prepared to ensure proper running.
